they do everything for a "top" story

OMG the tv gets more and more stupid... 4 Pilots *facepalm*.... But they mean 4 Cockpit Crew members i think ;) You got Captain, First Officer, Second Officer and a Boardengineer ;) So there are not 4 Pilots but 4 Crew Members in the Cockpit sometimes :D (not on every flight) ;)

The Boeing 777 doesn't have a board computer engineer.
Maybe there were 2 extra new pilots to get to learn the 777 by looking over the shoulder.

Looks like the main pilot had only 50 hours of experience on the 777. :(

The engineer thing depents on the flight and age of the plane ;)

And normaly approved Pilots can´t look over the shoulder of there colleagues ;) and that the CAPTAIN only got 50 hours of flying on a 777 is a non Logical Story :D because the first officer (co-Pilot) is the one who gets trained on an airplane or the upgrowing captain will be schooled by an professional Captain with Minimum of 800-1000 flying hours on this aircraft type ;)

And if a "Captain" can´t land an aircraft in perfect weather conditions without his fucking ILS ... he should not be a captain :D But it´s a worldwide Problem with the cheep Airlines from asia and other countrys... they are only getting trained in the Simulators and learn how to klick the "approch" button at the Autopilot but they does not get often confronted with "high risk" situations....
