The Division: Downgrades #3
 

A representative for Massive Entertainment, which is developing The Division, told IGN that the team cut the companion app because it "created an imbalance" that compromised the gameplay.
The app was originally announced when the open-world, online RPG was unveiled in 2013.

The Division companion app was supposed to allow a person with a tablet the ability to assist other players or become a troll. For example, the mobile app would allow for you to control a drone and offer armor buffs to console players.

Setting aside the graphical downgrades, another downgrade just happened.

I knew since the beginning we were gonna be Ubisofted just like In watchdogs... They will keep downgrading graphincs until we are playing minecraft with guns :p

From the gameplay aspects I'm still gonna be buying the game (On console because of my crappy outdated hardware)

I've learned from the past to not be hyped about any Ubisoft game though. Learned my lesson from Watch Dogs.

IGN did live coverage of E3 this year and compared 2013 vs 2015 The Division gameplay and yeah it was way downgraded. They did say that it was played on PC in 2013 and PS4 for 2015 so if could just be a graphical downgrade for consoles which we all knew would happen anyways.

I've seen the app in action @ gamescon.
It's a shame they discontinued it.

hmm well,i was full of hope...will see what the RELEASE says,this is the only thing what speaks the truth.

If you ask me i don't care about the companion app as i would never use it.
The game, i still want.

They didn't show it like that @ the E3 press conference.

If I were you I would wait and see what the community's opinion on this game... after watchdogs and the broken mess called AC Unity, I lost all faith on Ubisoft.

The footage we've seen this year is confirmed being from the X1 while the footage we've seen other times are from a PC.
