Go for it, I joined a 24/7 gym because I work night shift at my job and I have been going with a friend for 6 weeks now at 5:30. I have the option to go whenever but it works better for my friend and I to go at 5:30.
Checkout Bodybuilding.com and look for a plan you would like to follow, I'm currently following the Jim Stoppani 6 Weeks To Shred plan and am on the final week, I've seen some amazing results doing it but it depends what your after. If your trying to lose weight fast thats the program I'd recommend as it keeps your heart rate very high for about an hour or longer depending on how you workout.
Honestly the hardest part of being in shape is the diet, I've had so much trouble getting rid of the fast food in my life it's not even funny, I try not to cheat but when I cheat I make sure it's when my body needs it (leg day).
Anyways good luck and find a program that you can follow and stick too.
lol, I already did 3 miles this morning walking my dog, no gym membership fees and a lovely walk round a golf course every morning job done. Also for those that really want to be top of the game in gaming should take fitness very seriously, its only recently that my legs grew some muscle shape back after way too many hours hammering the "game" whichever it may have been at said given time.
I am not saying dont get drunk or whatever but you must also exersise properly, or an early grave it probably will be, lol. .
Relaspe, smoking and drinking, managed about a month off.
I typically go at 8-10pm just because that's when I feel like going.
But it's not always busy in prime hours like after a typical work day, you just have to find the right gym. Some less known ones will only have a few people in them. I actually go to Anytime Fitness which is popular and it's almost dead at 5-6pm.
So to answer your question, yeah I would. Why not?
Also evildevil is correct, diet is very important, you'd be wasting your time by trying to gain muscle lifting and eating sub optimal calories without enough protein. Just like you'd be wasting your time trying to lose fat eating above your maintenance calories even if you workout 2 hours a day. Calories matter for weight loss or gain. The macronutrients in those calories matter for composition. It's a little more complex but that's the majority of it.
Yeah night time is great, I ride my BMX bike about 1-5 miles a night after 8:30pm or I wake up at 3am and go ride before I go to work at 4:30. There is less traffic and it's more relaxing in my opinion. Also A few yrs back I work a night shift 4 days a week and on my days off i would be up all night, it really helped having friends that where night owls as well so we could work out or go party. The only benefit I see in day time working out is mountain or trail hiking. The sun makes you sweat and let you see where you are going so you cut some quick water weight and the sun gives you Vit - D naturally so mix both but over all Night is my favorite time to work out as well.
