Autogather is basically a feature where when you hold a axe or pick(pick is better but it uses more food) and it gets wood for you, so you could sit in your house and afk autogather some wood, atm it still doesn't work for ore(at least I don't think they've added that yet) and when you go to hit ore while autogather is getting wood it wont let you gather the ore(because technically the pickaxe is swinging at wood around you and that's how it autogathers, that's why you use up food, because youre essentially swinging your pick all the time until you turn it off)
