I don't call myself a hacker. I do code some though and I am learning more, but I have never reversed or altered anything in memory so I don't consider myself a hacker.
All I'm trying to say is that the cheats we use considered hacks, are they not, as they alter memory of the game. Therefore, we (cheaters) might be termed
hack users by some and it would not be much of a jump for the term (given how the English language works) to be short handed into
hackers, although we did nothing that would actually deserve this name according to todays definition of the word.
Example of a word evolving:
- Gay used to mean happy.
- Gay now means, a homosexual male or female, or something stupid or unfortunate. It is rarely used to describe being happy anymore.
